Offering an Ironstone platter in the Brown Transferware pattern called "Phileau", manufactured in the 1880's by G. W. Turner & Sons, Tunstall, England. ~ The Aesthetic Movement period was from 1870 to 1900's.
I have never seen this pattern of GW Turner in the shape of a dual handle cake plate, stunning! Brown & White Ironstone with Transferware featuring a Boat, Bridge and Fisherman in the center. The edges flowers, boats and a geometric design on the trim edges.
MEASURES: It measures 10 1/4" wide from handle to handle x 9 3/8" wide the other way.
NO Cracks or Chips, has very light spots of Crazing on the front and light overall Crazing on the backside. Has light normal wear, on the edges, to be expected and one teeny weeny flea bite on the rim underneath/backside. Overall, Lovely!!!
Manufactured by the company GW & Sons in Tunstall, England in the 1870s era.
The crisp PHILEAU pattern features delightful Japanesque and geometric designs of the aesthetic movement. The pattern captures the Victorian eras love of nature.
